Now looking after
your ears, too.
Expert hearing care on Gold Street — free hearing tests, hearing aids, and ear wax removal. In partnership with The Hearing Care Partnership.
For every line down the vision chart, the chance of having a hearing problem increases by 18%. Eyes and ears — it turns out they go together.
The same unhurried approach. For your hearing.
As an opticians, we see people every year or two for their eyes — and the overlap with hearing is significant. Looking after both makes sense. Doing it in one place, with people who know you, makes it easier.
We've partnered with The Hearing Care Partnership — one of the UK's most experienced independent audiology providers — to bring a qualified audiologist into the practice on a regular basis. Whether it's a routine check, a concern you've been putting off, or blocked ears that have been bothering you for months, you can sort it here at Gold Street.
Free Hearing Assessment
Most people who come in for a hearing test haven't had one before — and in our experience, a lot of them have been managing with hearing that isn't quite right for longer than they'd like to admit. That's nothing to worry about.
The test takes around an hour and is completely free. Your audiologist will carry out a series of assessments — tympanometry, otoscopy and pure tone audiometry — and walk you through the results properly. You'll leave knowing exactly where your hearing is and what, if anything, to do next.
Book your free testThe right aid for you, not the most expensive one.
Not everyone who has a hearing test needs aids — but if your audiologist recommends them, you'll have access to devices from the world's leading manufacturers. Your audiologist will take the time to match the right technology to your hearing loss, your lifestyle and your budget. There's no pressure to decide on the day.
Most people wait 7 years before doing anything about hearing loss.
The sooner it's identified, the more options you have. A free hearing assessment takes an hour and could change how you experience the world.
